The problem
In 2008, Point Asia’s customers were shifting toward the aftermarket: instead of a few large assemblers, buyers became hundreds of small bike shops. The tools of the day were either open marketplaces (Alibaba) or internal CRMs (Salesforce). Nothing was built for a buyer and a seller to do business together — and prices and customer data are trade secrets that do not belong on a public marketplace.
What we did
- 01An invitation-only private network: only invited partners see each other’s products and prices, and every customer sees its own price list.
- 02One continuous thread from quote to shipping documents: quote, order, PI, shipment, payment link and courier waybill, each carrying data forward from the last.
- 03In 2026 we added an AI assistant that reads documents, business cards and spreadsheets into structured data — a person confirms before anything is written.
Where it stands
- Point Asia’s team used to be fully occupied by five large European customers. With Patisco, the same team now also serves 500+ smaller buyers.
- Selected for DEMO Fall 2011 in the US and Asia Red Herring 100; angel round from AppWorks in 2012; paid service since 2013.
- Businesses in 43 countries served and more than US$4M transacted on the platform; featured as a Taipei City digital transformation case in 2025.
